The upholstery re-conditioning process normally starts from the welding of broken metal seat frames.

      

Once the metal seat back frame is broken, your back, mainly your spine will have no necessary support which your back should have at all times. When driving for long periods you will soon feel uncomfortable. Most professional drivers would have back pain, distorted spine or other serious spine related problems when sitting in a seat with a broken seat back for a long time.  So dont delay a broken seat back can be repaired, contact us or call in to Southern Trim as soon as possible.  If the problem of the seat frame is not resolved damage to the cushioning is inevitable. Many cushions sent to us for repair in the past have been found to have an identical pattern – the foam damaged in similar places. When you sit down your spine bears all your upper body weight transmitting pressure through the spine.  The most vulnerable part is a piece of soft bone located at the bottom known as the coccyx. When the cushion foam is damaged the resistance is gone,  your coccyx will then  be pressed direct to the hard metal pan by your body weight which plays a part in causing back problems.

The procedure of repairing the damaged cushion foams consists of providing 3 different layers of foam, the first being memory foam which is added to the top of the cushion with another newer foam midway and beneath that a piece of supporting foam.

 

The “memory foam” is a kind of resistance enhanced foam, which when you leave the seat, remembers your sitting position and then slowly inflates to its original state.

 

The three layers are then encased in a selected cover made up of either cloth, vinyl or leather with many colours available.
